Menorca

Unspoilt, idyllic, glistening sand, turquoise water… just about every tourist brochure cliché is actually true when you are talking about Menorca. Outside peak season, it is still often warm enough to sit in the sun and the temperature is ideal for strolling around the coastal paths, or of course relaxing by your own private pool...

With more beaches than the rest of the Balearic Islands put together, and offering a much lower-key atmosphere than its larger neighbour, Majorca, holidays in Menorca put the spotlight on relaxation. Rugged cliffs lead to secluded coves and calm waters while lush countryside is home to olive groves and orchards. Narrow cobbled streets wind their way down to quaint fishing harbours.

Holidays to Menorca really are as idyllic as they sound…

Travel
La Calma is 15 minutes drive from Mahon harbour and Mahon airport. Pick ups can be arranged with a reliable taxi firm. Car hire really isn't essential, as there are restaurants, bars, a supermarket and a bakery in S'algar only 5 mins walk away. You can easily catch regular buses to the main harbour and other bus routes.

If you want to see the island and its many attractions/beaches then car hire is essential.

The video below will give you a really good flavour of what to expect when you explore the island from your home from home at 'La Calma.'
